It was on January 12th 1934 mahatma Gandhi planted a mango tree at Sree Narayana Ashramam, Payyannur. It stands testimony to the heritage of the Independence movement at Payyannur. The Malgoa sapling was planted on the southern side of the Ashrama Vidyalayam started by Swami Anandatheertha. Here's wishing you all a happy Gandhi Jayanthi.
