Periyar Lake – Thekkady
Periyar Lake Thekkady, located inside the Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, is a famous tourist spot. The boat rides in Periyar Lake and gets an opportunity to witness the beauty of the jungle in a refreshing way. The pristine waters of the lake are calming enough to relax your mind, body and spirit. If you are lucky, you might get a chance to see herds of elephants bathing on the lakeside.
The natural brilliance sprinkled around in the form of tall trees and a host of wildlife makes the whole experience exciting. The one and a half-hour ride will offer you plenty of chances to catch a glimpse of rare species of birds like the Malabar Grey Hornbill and the Nilgiri Wood Pigeon.

Timings: Boat ride timings are 7.30am / 9.30am / 11:15am / 1.45pm / 3.30pm.
Entry fees: Rs 225 per person and Rs 75 for children. Advance booking charges for boating are Rs 500.
Boating Charges: INR 150 for boats from KTDC and INR 40 for boats from the forest department
