Day 01 – Cochin – Thekkady
The very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. The Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India. Spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.

Near to reaching Thekkady you have the option to go for a plantation tour where you will get an understanding of the spices of Kerala. They will explain to you about the plants and how the spices are processed. After lunch proceed for the famous boating at the Periyar lake. Periyar lake is inside the Periyar wildlife sanctuary where you might be able to see animals in close quarters. Evening there is Kathakali (Kerala Dance Form) and Kalaripayattu (Kerala martial arts) performance. (both optional). Overnight at resort in Thekkady.

Day 02 – Thekkady Sightseeing
Early morning take a packed breakfast from the hotel and proceed to Kalveri Mount a beautiful picnic spot with a panoramic view of the Idukki dam. Later visit the Hanging Bridge of Ayyappan Kovil and Anchuruli water tunnel. Later come back and take a walk in the local market where you can buy genuine spices. Rest of the day at Leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
