Mangla Devi Temple – Thekkady
The Mangla Devi Temple in Idukki is one of the major attractions in Thekkady. The temple is a pilgrim site for the religious. It is built within the premises of the renowned Periyar Tiger Reserves within the northern boundary. Mangala Devi also is known as Kannaki which is a symbol of moral powers possessed by a woman. The temple is not only visited by pilgrims but this tourist spot is frequented by those who are in search of a quiet spot with pristine ambiance.
You can enjoy a stroll in the woods around the area and witness the wonderful natural beauty. The trek to the temple is an interesting one too, with winding paths and deep jungles. If lucky, you might able to the sight of the exotic Nilgiri Tahrs and bison.
