Day 1 BANGALORE TO WAYANAD (6 Hours 260KMS)
Morning by 5 AM we will pick you up from your place and proceed to Wayanad. By 12 Noon you will reach Sultan Battery. Have Lunch and we will take you to Edakkal Caves.
Edakkal Caves – are two natural caves at a remote location at Edakkal, 25 km from Kalpetta in the Wayanad district of Kerala in India‘s Western Ghats. They lie 1,200 m (3,900 ft) above sea level on Ambukutty Mala, near an ancient trade route connecting the high mountains of Mysore to the ports of the Malabar coast. Inside the caves are pictorial writings believed to date to at least 6,000 BCE, from the Neolithic man, indicating the presence of a prehistoric civilization or settlement in this region.The Stone Age carvings of Edakkal are rare and are the only known examples from South India. These are not technically caves, but rather a cleft, rift or rock shelter fissure caused by a piece of rock splitting away from the main body. On one side of the cleft is a rock weighing several tons that covers the cleft to form the ‘roof’ of the cave. The carvings are of human and animal figures, tools used by humans and of symbols yet to be deciphered, suggesting the presence of a prehistoric settlement.
After visiting Edakkal Caves we will proceed to Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary.
Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary – protected area forest of Nagarhole and Bandipur of Karnataka on the north east and Mudumalai of Tamil Nadu on the southeast. Muthanga rich in bio-diversity, the sanctuary is an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Elephants roam freely here and tigers are sighted occasionally as well. Various species of deer, monkeys, birds, butterflies and insects. The trees and plants in the sanctuary are typical of the south Indian moist deciduous forests and semi-evergreen forests. Jeep Safari along the road to Muthanga and further, offers chances to watch these roaming animals.

Day 2 WAYANAD TO BANGALORE
Morning after breakfast proceed to to visit Kanthanpara waterfalls, Lakkadi view point and Pookot lake.
Kanthanpara waterfalls – One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Wayanad and an ideal picnic spot. The 30m waterfall and the picture perfect surroundings make it worth a visit. The cool, sparking waters at this lesser known destination is sure to soothe all who wish to rejuvenate in a silent environment.
Visiting hours: 09:00 hrs.to 17:00 hrs.
Lakkadi view point – It is a lookout point of Valley along the side of Kozhicode – Wayanad National Highway. You will be having the areal view of Kozhikode Town from this spot if the weather is clear. You can se lots of monkeys and Malabar Giant Squirrel.
Pookot lake –The scenic Pookode Lake is a freshwater lake surrounded by green hills and evergreen forests. Pookkot lake lies at an altitude of 770 mts above sea level and is known for its boating trips, exotic birds and blue water lilies. It is also a popular picnic spot and a pleasing retreat for nature lovers It is 15 km away from Kalpetta. It is the smallest and highest altitude freshwater lake in Kerala. The lake has abundance of blue lotus and fresh water fishes. The forests surrounding the lake hold many wild animals, birds and flies.
After Lunch proceed to visit Banasura sagar Dam, Karlad Lake
Banasura sagar Dam – It is the largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia. The dam is made up of massive stacks of stones and boulders. The Banasura Sagar Dam is located 21 km from Kalpetta. Banasura Sagar Dam is at the foot of the Banasura Hill. Trekking, Spped Boat and Pedal boating are the major tourist attractions. The actual missions for this dam is to provide water for Kakkayam dam which was situated in Kozhikode district to produce electricity and also irrigation in Wayanad
Karlad Lake – The third largest fresh water lake in Kerala and second largest lake in Wayanad after Pookode Lake. The lake is 3 km away from Banasura Sagar Dam. Activities like Ziplining, boating, kayaking, rock climbing, Zorbing and Handicrafts emporium are among the tourist attraction.
Later proceed back to Bangalore with sweet memories
